The Rose’s Pistil by Carolina Casanova Cruz
If The Rose tells the story of who I was, The Rose’s Pistil will tell the story of who I’ve become. It begins in 2018, when a week-long Joe Dispenza retreat turned my world upside down and opened doors I never knew existed. I am writing it in the same brutally honest, cheeky style as The Rose, this book will be filled with intimate stories, unexpected twists, humour, and mystical experiences that challenged everything I thought I knew. It’s about love, consciousness, desire, synchronicity, and what happens when life becomes stranger, and far more beautiful than fiction.

What Can You Expect from The Rose’s Pistil by Carolina Casanova?
Like The Rose, The Rose’s Pistil will be written as a diary that gradually unfolds into a novel, weaving together stories and poetry. There will still be humour, intimacy, and the occasional cheeky story, but this time the focus shifts towards the mystical. The world beyond our senses and the experiences that transformed the way I see life. I started writing the book in 2025, and since then the story has continued to grow. New chapters keep presenting themselves, while others still need to be written. Like life itself, this book refuses to be rushed.

Not even Carolina Casanova knows the ending…

HowThe Rose’s Pistil by Carolina Casanova Cruz begins
I anxiously waited for my father, Santiago, to open his mouth and tell me what was causing the tension in his jaw. But he remained silent until we found a bench. We sat down, and without looking at me, he finally began to speak.
“Lola is pregnant.”
“That’s amazing news!” I laughed, still halfway through my sigh as my arms wrapped around his broad shoulders.
“Wait,” he stopped me. “We’re going to name her Carolina.” I smiled. “After you.” He said.
My heart sank. A confused look spread across my face. Then, looking me straight in the eyes, he began.
Poem – Pierced my Soul
Ow, Carolina, my daughter, my pride.
Being reunited with you has warmed my heart, but pierced my soul inside.
Every moment we spend together reminds me of what I have done.
That I left you when you were still so very young.
Looking at all you have accomplished, I feel both pride
And sadness for the moments we were denied.
But the strongest emotion I feel is the guilt I bear,
For leaving that empty space, making you think I didn’t care.
I did. I thought about you every day.
But it doesn’t change that I wasn’t there, that I walked away.
It made me hope that one day I could somehow make things right.
Now, with the happy news we’re having a daughter, I finally see the light.
This is my chance to be the father I always wanted to be.
Something I wasted with you… and almost with Martine, your half-sister, you see.
I can love her unconditionally, as every father should.
And be there for every moment that matters… like I never could.
That day, on a simple wooden bench, I lost my father for the second time.
